Johnny Warren, Alabama Pastor, Died in Skiing Accident on New Year's Day

Alabama  - Westview Baptist Church in Opp is mourning the loss Pastor Johnny Warren, a young pastor who was killed in a skiing accident on New Year's Day while on vacation in West Virginia.

Johnny Warren, died, Wednesday in a skiing accident in West Virginia. Warren was born and raised in Opp, and was the Pastor of Missions and Discipleship at the church.  He had been part of one of the church's ministerial team for four years, according to a local newspaper

"Johnny had a heart for God," Westview Pastor Gary Miller told Andalusia Star News. "That describes him. He had a heart for this community, and our church hear at Westview." 

Miller said. "Johnny had served as a missionary in Vietnam several years ago. He and his wife, Amy, were actually planning on going to Haiti in February. They were gong to go and continue their relationship with us from down there." 

"They just have a lot of people loving on them and ministering to them, bringing food and dropping by, and that sort of thing," Miller added. "His family is resting in the fact that God is sovereign in all things, even when it doesn't make sense. We can trust God always to be faithful to his children." 

Funeral arrangements have not yet be scheduled.
