Lin was expected to miss two weeks from a sprained and bruised right knee injury.

Lin had said previously that he was expected to be out for 2 or 3 weeks.

He would have played against the Golden State Warriors, on Friday, if he had recovered in the two week period.

"I'm happy with the progress," Lin said. "I haven't played yet, had any contact. But I've been working out. I haven't played on the court, but I've run on the court. That's different from the treadmill."

McHale said centers Greg Smith and Omer Asik could return by the end of the week or next Sunday in Sacramento.
