iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 Release Date 2013 in October? iPhone 5S Hints A7X Processor and Fingerprint Sensor for Apple's Next-Gen Tablets

The iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 were no show at Apple's keynote event on Tuesday, where the company's flagship smartphones iPhone 5S and 5C were announced.
Rumor mills are now moving on to indicate the release date of Apple tablets, pointing to an October launch.

The iPad 5 and Mini 2 are expected to come in the fourth quarter of 2013, says the KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who alleged that Apple's Chinese manufacturers are set to ship the iPad parts at the end of Q3, and the initial production of next-generation iPads will go full scale in Q4 and thus have a release date in as early as October or November.

Just like the low-budget iPhone 5C, Apple will also release a non-Retina iPad Mini with a lower cost.

According to rumors and leaks, the iPad 5 will have a thinner body with thinner bezels, and a more curved design.
As seen in the iPhone 5S, the iPad 5 may also sport a new A7X processor, a fingerprint sensor and some extra hues.

Also rumored to sport a different name "the iPad Maxi," the 5th generation of Apple's full-size tablet is speculated for a 12.9-inch diagonal screen, better clarity, 10 hours of battery life and a reduced battery size among other features.

The iPad Mini 2 is expected to end the criticisms over the iPad Mini's lack of a Retina display. If the Mini 2 sports a higher resolution display, Apple may also power it with the faster A7X processor.

"The iPad mini 2 may be pulled in for launching in late 2013. Since other brand vendors are all expected to have a line-up of new high resolution 7-8" tablets to launch over the next 3-6 months, we think iPad mini 2 may lose its opportunity in the market if it is slated for introduction next year," says Kuo.

After the Mini 2, another iPad Mini is rumored for an early 2014 release, as a low-budget, non-Retina device.
