"Surgery went well, he's resting and will be ready for the Idol tour kick off in July!" Leslie Fradkin, a representative for Idol producers 19 Entertainment, said to The Hollywood Reporter.
The young singer had been delaying surgery for "massive" kidney stones that were affecting him daily. However, the Idol winner remained on the show until the end to win what he knew could be his victory. Thankfully, Phillips is ready to continue on his journey and is thankful for all the support from fans.
"Just want to tell everyone thank you for the concerns and prayers, it means a lot to my family and I'm just resting and healing," the "Idol" winner tweeted.
After surgery, Phillips seems to be taking things slowly with a lot of rest and relaxation. This time has allowed him to reflect via Twitter about the world around him.
"It's crazy how everyone is so different in this world. Really interesting. But we're also alike in ways. Just thinking about life," the singer tweeted on Monday.
Later, he encouraged fans to take some time and listen to a lot of stories.
"Listening to old stories of life with the people i love....good times. Everyone should listen to old stories sometimes," Phillips wrote.
The American Idol, Fox tour will begin on July 6 with 45 scheduled dates.
