Asked if the 44-year-old singer is planning to join the nation's most famous singing competition in its 13th season, Casper responded, "Yes."

"Jennifer has been a close part of the show all along... there have been discussions there," Fox Network President previously said in a press conference. Rumors point to an imminent signing with the "Live It Up" singer.

For Season 13, Keith Urban, who served as judge in Season 12, has been confirmed to return to the show.
"Keith did a great job last year, the fans really liked him. Keith's a really funny guy. He didn't get to shine last year," Fox's Chairman Kevin Reilly said during the 2013 Summer TCA Press Tour.
Aside from Urban, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson have left the judge panel after Season 12.

Lopez was a judge for "American Idol" in 2011 and 2012, and as a fan favorite, was highly anticipated to return to Season 13.

"Returning to 'American Idol' makes sense for Jennifer for this season," a source told E! News.
"As the show's schedule will allow her to focus on new film and TV projects… and, of course, her twins are starting school this year and she will have time for her family."

The third and fourth judges who will join Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez as judges for "American Idol" in 2014 have not yet been confirmed. Rumored hopefuls include Will.I.Am, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken and Adam Lamber.
